Shri Om Prakash Khurana, the Veteran Poultry legend passed away on 19-12-2022 at the age of 82.He established Raj Breeders in the year 1997 in Hyderabad and never looked back.
Shri Om Prakash Khurana was born on 3 March 1940 in Mandalay, Myanmar.He was a gold medalist in B Com & B LLB from Rangoon (Yangon) University. He came to Hyderabad in 1963 and started his business career in a small way.
His poultry journey started
in 1976 and he never looked back till his demise. He started an Egg Layer farm
at Hyderabad.He joined Singh Poultry as a Director. Singh Poultry grew to be a
leading hatchery supplying then popular Rani Shaver & Kegg Farms layer and
Broiler chicks and spread in to other states like Orissa, Maharashtra,
Karnataka under his leadership.He also held the position of Joint Managing
director in Basik Breeders, a Pure line breeding venture with Shaver brand
Broiler and Layer Pure Line stocks started in 1983.
Raj Breeders came in to
existence in 1997 as his own breeding farm venture, ably assisted by his son
Mr. Gaurav Khurana which became a popular brand to supply quality chicks and
hatching egg of leading brands. Shri. O.P Khurana was known for his finance management
with efficient purchase of Inputs.
The family owned Raj Chick
Farms, an integrated Broiler production company has been operating in other
states like chattisgargh, U.P, Bangalore etc. He faced major challenges during
2003, when the first case of Bird Flu hit India along with the whole Industry.
Shri Om Prakash Khurana was
always very receptive to the advice of his colleagues within the industry,
Technicians and his Employees.He encouraged his employees to be independent and
many of his employees are extremely successful in their own businesses as of
now. Shri Om Prakash ji always faced his difficult days with a smile on his
face. He was broad minded and good at heart.
He will always be remembered for his smiling face, and broadmindness.
