    Namakkal has bagged first order from Malaysia for Indian Table Eggs.

    P. V. Senthil, Managing Director of Kaveries Bio Protein Limited said he received the export order on 14th December 2022from Dr. D. Biswas- regional officer, animal quarantine and certification services- southern region in Chennai.

    He further said that municipal administration minister will flag off the first consignment flight at Trichy airport.

    He further said that Malaysian Agriculture and Food Security Minister Haslina Abdul Hamid has recently approached the Indian embassy in Kuala Lumpur Seeking support to import eggs from India urgently.

    Malysia has been facing a shortage of table eggs for the last few months. As chicken and eggs are part of their staple food, it is considered a serious food security issue by the Malaysian Government.Malysian population is also sensitive to availability and price of eggs and chicken making it a main issue in the country.

    B. N. Reddy, high commissioner of India , Kuala Lumpur wrote a letter to the Government detailing the shortage of eggs in Malaysia and their interest in importing same from India.

    Based on the request the agricultural and processed food products export development authority of our India Worked to expedite the certification services.

    Mr. Senthil said that in first consignment about 2 lakh eggs will be exported from Namakkal.
